12th of November the young designer, Alexander Wang was presented with the Swiss Textile Awards in Zurich, an important award that is designed to boost the textile industry in Switzerland. The award includes nearly $150,000 granted to Wang, 10 percent of which is to be spent on Swiss fabric.

Last year's winner, Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte, presented Wang with the award, and told British Vogue that the award allowed her and Laura, her sister and co-designer, to take Rodarte "in a direction we just couldn't have otherwise." Maybe Wang will follow last year's winner's lead and do a line for Target.
Previous winners have included Marios Schwab, Haider Ackermann, Raf Simons and Bruno Pieters, several of whom have subsequently achieved key positions in the industry. Raf Simons is now creative director at Jil Sander and Marios Schwab holds the same title at Halston, while Bruno Pieters designs the Hugo collection of Hugo Boss...

Ok, now I have to talk about ME. I'm so pissed off, I could've have the tickets without problems ( you could even BUY them but I could've had journalistic access thanks to my dad ), Geneva-Zurich is 3h of train, my aunt lives there and I could've slept there.....but I had a f*************** exam at 8h the day after !! Life is SO unfair, there were Alex, Rodarte, etc. etc......... I'm still crying....
